Abstract:
Considering that human life has historically developed along riverbanks, significant changes have consequently occurred in the river cross-sections and their surroundings. The alteration of natural river conditions by humans has resulted in various impacts on the ecosystem, water-carrying capacity, morphological conditions, and the erosion and sedimentation balance of rivers. The instability and problems created in rivers due to human intervention have led to numerous challenges for humans themselves, as they remain dependent on rivers to meet their needs.
This paper aims to establish general principles and a technical design framework centered on sustainable tourism in cities, utilizing concepts of tourism, global experiences, and theories presented in this field. The focus is on enhancing the vitality of spaces along rivers and promoting river restoration as a means of improving both environmental and tourism outcomes.
